Gerry Rixen

BA, MRSS (Member od the Register of the Shiatsu Society) started studying various Shiatsu styles in London from 1983 and has been a registered practitioner of Zen Shiatsu with the London College of Shiatsu since 1992 ; he is also a registered practitioner with the Shiatsu Society (GB) and a registered practitioner/teacher with the French Federation. He is the founder and director of the Shiatsu and Yoga school SYM (since 1997) and teaches in France, Sweden, Greece, Italy and the UK.

He is also a qualified Yoga teacher, registered with the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre but has also studied the Iyengar method at the Iyengar Yoga Centre in London. He includes teaching therapeutic Yoga in his Shiatsu courses and teaches residential Yoga courses.

Gerry is also a 4th Dan Shorinji Kempo Instructor (Japanese Zen and Martial Art). In this field he did a 13 year apprenticeship with Tameo Mizuno Sensei 8th Dan in London who also taught him Seiho (akin to Shiatsu based on use of pressure points). Gerry taught Shorinji Kempo for many years both in the UK where he also opened a childrens class and in France where he founded the Montpellier branch. He studied Shorinji Kempo, Yoga and Shiatsu not only in the UK but also learned from many nenowned teachers in Europe, Japan and Brazil.

After completing his studies in Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge University he worked as a language teacher and later as a TV-news reporter and producer before dedicating himself full-time to practicing and teaching Shiatsu and Yoga.

Edmund Robinson

est praticien et formateur en Shiatsu. Après ses études en philosophie à l'université de Leicester (Angleterre) il a travaillé plusieurs années comme technicien du son dans des studios d'enregistrement anglais et français. Il vit en France depuis 1987. Il a commencé sa première formation en shiatsu dès 1981 à Londres au East West Center. Puis il a suivi une formation en Shiatsu Namikoshi a Paris et a été accrédité par la FFST en 1995. Il a complété sa formation avec Gerry Rixen en Zen Shiatsu et a cofondé l'école SYM en 1997. Désormais, il consacre sa vie professionnelle à la pratique et à la formation. Il est aussi cavalier et pratique le shiatsu équin auquel il s'est formé professionnellement depuis 2005.

Massimo Cantara

MRSS, registered practitioner with the Shiatsu Society since 1993 and a committee member of the Federazione Italiana Shiatsu. He lives near Florence where he practices and teaches Shiatsu. He is the director of Holismos, a complementary health clinic in Toscany and of Polaris Shiatsu Institute. He is also a kinesiologist and a musician.
